Abuja's National Children Park And Zoo Is Not What It Used To Be

National Children Park And Zoo, Asokoro Abuja
On Saturday, the hubby, Baby D and I went to Abuja's National Children Park And Zoo and let me tell you it isn't what it was. The first time i visited the park, which was back in 2013, there were more animals to see. They used to have giraffes, porcupines, some eagles i believe.

And to think i was so excited to be taking my family there to check out the zoo animals. But it wasn't what i was expecting. There was no giraffe. No lions. Just our everyday animals that you could probably see driving round town.
And is there any reason for this? After all gate fee that used to be 200 Naira per adult, was now 400 Naira per adult and 200 Naira for children. Babies entered in for free.

What i loved about this place was, although there wasnt much exotic animals to see but there was a lot of family and friends that came visiting. I even met a friend and her kids and apparently this is her third visit this year.

But on a good note, there park was very clean and well kept, the grasses well mowed.

There were also some monkeys in a cage and next to them 2 baboons.
This is a lovely place to take one's family too and have picnic. It's clean, well manicured and gate fee is still on the low side.

But it's so sad to see how dilapidated this Children Park And Zoo has now become. I hope government i proves it's state soon.
